Susan Herbst '56

Susan HerbstI was asked about my Endicott College legacy and how it connects to my values. It is important to me to reach into young minds and help them regardless of nationality or background. I want to provide students who are in need with resources that will enable them to succeed. Making an Endicott education available to all, regardless of other factors, is the legacy I want to leave.

A friend of mine told me about gift annuities and it made sense to me. The income I received from the gift annuity allowed me to make a larger gift to Endicott than I originally thought possible. The remainder from the annuity will go toward student scholarships, and to know that future students can pursue their Endicott education creates a feeling of great reward.

My own resources are small, but I want to set an example for others. Small gifts can add up to make a significant impact. I hope that sharing my legacy will inspire others to do the same. When we work together, we can make an even bigger difference through our combined legacies.
