Barbara Burgess MaierWhy me? Why give? Why now? What for?

Whatever part of Endicott’s amazing history you lived through, no doubt you can point to moments that gave you insights into yourself and how you wanted to live your life. Those are the moments that deserve a legacy.

Endicott College allowed me to find the essential connections to self that enabled me to thrive as I went on to Skidmore and then graduate school. Was it the magic mix of dedicated professors, meaningful friendships, and salt air? Yes, and more. The more were the lessons I learned about making a commitment to something you love. The love of learning and the excitement of the creative process that I experienced then led me to, in turn, share those passions and inspire those same commitments over my 43 years on the faculty at Endicott. Returning to teach at the college that gave me the firm foundation on which to build my life and my life’s work was a privilege. To be able to contribute to and witness the growth of my students, as well as the flourishing of our College, was deeply rewarding. So, for me, it is essential that I contribute through my estate toward scholarships as a legacy for future Endicott students. Endicott’s future ability to serve more diverse and dedicated students will need our generosity.
